The Tri-Lakes Community Alliance is devoted to supporting a thriving quality of life and culture in the North Warren community.  The Alliance is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of volunteers in the towns of Chester and Horicon working together. Meetings are held every 2nd Friday of the month at 9am at The Panther Mountain Inn.

There are only two rules:

  1. Meetings last for only 1 hour
  2. Only 1 person speaks at a time

Minutes | February 4, 2026

Our Monthly Tri-Lakes Community Alliance Meeting was held at 5PM on February 4th at The Crazy Loon Distillery.
 
17 People in Attending Meeting began at 5:05 PM
 
Christine Remington, President of the Tri-Lakes Community Alliance commenced the meeting with introductions of the 17 people in the room.
In those introductions the following Board members were listed:
Deb Eves, Vice President
Randy Berg, Treasurer 
Emily Monte, Secretary
Cindy Mead, Board Member 
Don Butler (not in attending) Board Member 
 
Christine gave some history of the Tri-Lakes Community Alliance, what we have done and what the community wants us to do. Throughout the meeting we addressed the upcoming events we have planned and events that we would like to propose if we have the volunteers.
 
Brant Lake Winter Carnival –
Saturday February 14, 2026 
at Jimbo’s Club at the Point of Pines Camp in Brant Lake NY. 
The event begins at 1 PM with fry pan tosses, outhouse races and much more winter fun completed with fireworks at the end of the festivities! 
We need VOLUNTEERS!!!! Please email me if you are looking to help us make this event great.

Scott Remington Family & Close Friends Annual Spinal Cord Research Benefit Is Scheduled to be held on April 25th at Jimbo’s Club at the point from 3-8PM 

The Chestertown Farmers Market

First Chestertown Farmers Market will be June 3rd outside Chester Town Hall 

Events in the planning process/ open areas for the future 

Woofstock Revisited is still in the planning process 

Hope to combine events with The Hub in Brant Lake with Flannel Fest and/or the Brant Lake Duck Race in the Fall 

Taste of the Tri-Lakes 

With more businesses and restaurants opening in our area, the Tri-Lakes Community Alliance would like to plan an event similar to the Taste of The Tri-Lakes that was held with the Tree Lighting Ceremony in December. Hope it can be a Fall or Spring event with music and highlighting the restaurants of our area and promote the businesses in our community. “Beats and Eats?” 🙂 

The American Legion Post 964 in Chestertown can be rented out for parties and events, They have a full kitchen and space if anyone in the area is looking to host. Located at 6311 US Rt. 9, Chestertown NY 12817

The American Legion is also working with the Tri-Lakes Community Alliance as hosting some festivities for our St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14th, 2026.

  • Discussion included interest in organizing a Taste of the Tri-Lakes event for local businesses, featuring food and music.
    • Potential timing: Spring or Fall of 2026.

Rotary Updates

  • The Tri-Lakes Community Alliance received a Thank You letter from Rotary for:
    • Their contribution and support of the 5K/10K Race.
    • The loan of the Alliance’s PA system for the event.
  • Rotary will host Santa in Chestertown:
    • Saturday, December 13
    • 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    • Chestertown Hall

Chamber of Commerce Updates

  • Phase One of town branding is nearing completion, currently in the identification stage.
  • The Chamber will meet with the Town of Johnsburg next week.
  • Moving forward, an individual will need to be appointed to maintain the newly created three-town identity.

Krazy Downhill Derby

  • Scheduled for February 21, 2026, at Dynamite Hill.

  • The officers also serve as board members.
  • Proposed slate:

    • Randy Berg — Treasurer
    • Emily Monte — Secretary
  • Vote called:
    • All in favor: 12
    • Opposed: None
  • Motion carried unanimously.

Final Remarks

  • A heartfelt thank you was extended to Don Butler for his 13 years of service as President of the Tri-Lakes Community Alliance.
  • Don Butler will remain on the board, along with Cindy Mead.
  • Don Butler was recently interviewed by The Sun newspaper regarding his years of involvement; members were encouraged to read the article.
