The Tri-Lakes Community Alliance is devoted to supporting a thriving quality of life and culture in the North Warren community.  The Alliance is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization of volunteers in the towns of Chester and Horicon working together. Meetings are held every 2nd Friday of the month at 9am at The Panther Mountain Inn.

There are only two rules:

  1. Meetings last for only 1 hour
  2. Only 1 person speaks at a time

Meeting Minutes – Tri-Lakes Community Alliance

1. Farmers Market Recap

  • Over 14,000 attendees visited the Farmers Market during the 2025 season.
  • Positive feedback from vendors and the community.
  • Planning to expand and improve for the 2026 season.

2. Upcoming Community Events

  • Duck Race & Flannel Festival
    • Date: Saturday, October 11th
    • Location: The Hub, Brant Lake
    • Details:
      • The event combines the annual Duck Race and Flannel Festival.
      • Duck race begins at “the quack of noon.”
      • Tickets: $10 each
      • Vendors: 12 PM – 6 PM
      • Live music begins at 3 PM
      • Family-friendly activities, food, and local craft vendors throughout the day.
  • Scarecrows Among Us Competition
    • Date: Saturday, October 11th
    • Time: 10 AM – 2 PM
    • Location: Chestertown Town Hall
    • Details:
      • Community members and businesses will display themed scarecrows.
      • Judging and awards will take place during the event.
  • 80’s Rewind Party
    • Date: Saturday, October 18th
    • Time: 5 PM – ?
    • Location: Green Mansions
    • Details:
      • Activities include trivia, dance contests, “Big Hair” contest, and “Guess Who’s Who from the 80s.”
      • “Raid Your Parents’ Liquor Cabinet” — $20 per mystery bottle (donation-based).
      • Free admission for all attendees.
  • Haunted House at Forest Lake Camp
    • Date: Saturday, October 25th
    • Time: 2 PM – 5 PM
    • Details:
      • Sponsored by Forest Lake Camp.
      • Features a DJ, spooky treats from The Bandstand Booery, and a newly added Haunted House Maze for both kids and adults.
      • The maze will include themed rooms, jump-scare zones, and interactive spooky scenes.
      • Local businesses and individuals will host decorated cabins throughout the camp, offering candy and goodies to visitors.

3. Upcoming Collaborative Initiatives

  • Business Mixer with Brant Lake Marina
    • Currently in planning — date and time TBD.
    • Intended to promote networking among local businesses and community members.

4. Partner Organization Updates

  • Rotary Club
    • The recent 5K–10K Run was successful, raising approximately $7,000.
    • Upcoming Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Town of Chester, featuring Santa’s visit — date and location TBD.
  • North Warren Chamber of Commerce
    • Ongoing efforts toward rebranding the region and refining the Chamber’s long-term goals.
    • Upcoming Event: Downhill Derby at Dynamite Hill — date TBD.

1. Call to Order and Approval of Agenda

2. Committee & Project Updates

Electronic Bulletin Board:

  • Committee members: Deborah Eves, Don Butler, Randy.
  • Installation is underway; board will be lit and operational by Monday, September 15, 2025.
  • Project funded jointly by the North Warren Chamber of Commerce and the Tri-Lake Community Alliance.

Chestertown Farmers Market:

  • Season concluded on September 10, 2025.
  • Ran for 15 weeks at Chestertown Hall with over 14,000 visitors.

3. Chamber of Commerce Updates

Duck Race:

  • Event will be discontinued this season; will not be held on Columbus Day weekend.

Downhill Derby:

  • Scheduled to continue this winter; further updates to follow.

4. Community Events & Announcements

Chestertown Rotary 5k/10k Race:

  • Scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Chestertown Hall.

Forest Lake Camp Haunted House:

  • October 25, 2025, 2:00–6:00 PM.
  • Free community event; sponsorship opportunities available through the North Warren Chamber of Commerce.
  • Sponsors encouraged to contribute; flyer provided.

Scarecrows Among Us Competition:

  • October 11, 2025, 10:00 AM–12:30 PM at Chestertown Hall.
  • Organized in conjunction with the Haunted House event.
  • Registration and sign-up through the North Warren Chamber of Commerce.

Tri-Lake Community Alliance 80’s Dance Party:

  • October 18, 2025, 5:00 PM–? at Green Mansions Golf Course.
  • Activities include DJ, wine-pull fundraiser, trivia, 80’s dance competitions, and “Biggest Hair” contest.

Rotary Grant for Picnic Tables:

  • Announced by Deb Eves.
  • Chestertown Rotary received a grant for wheelchair-accessible picnic tables.
  • Tables will be placed in Horicon, Adirondack, Chester, and Pottersville areas.

Woofstock 2026:

  • Event rescheduled; now to be held in September 2026.

  • Jeremiah Granger expressed thanks to the Tri-Lake Community Alliance for awarding him a scholarship.
