General Board Meeting Minutes: May 29, 2015

ATV Ride: May 30th starting at the Tin TeePee at 10 AM followed by cookout at 5. Donations for door prizes for both events that day are needed so let us know if you can help! VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED for just a few hours to help with this….. We continually get compliments on all the TLBA does for the community but we need more people to help out with some of our events – PLEASE try to donate a few hours of your time if you can, even if you can’t make the actual meetings….

Craft Brew Fest: May 30th at the Hub in Brant Lake. 5 PM – 8 PM – $25 admission to benefit new Electric Sign. Saratoga Brewery coming plus others. Again, just a few people are needed to take payments at the door….

Mission Statement of the TLBA was read to make sure we are following our stated mission – “To improve the quality of life and promote economic prosperity in Northern Warren County through enhanced infrastructure, expanded tourism, and beautification of our economic centers”.

Carol Theater: Thank you letter received from North Country Ministries for the Coming Together Concert we held with all profits donated to the Ministries. Huge THANK YOU to Al & Ellie Tolomeo and all the volunteerswho made this happen! Next performance is WOOD STOCK REVISTED – Chestertown’s version of Janis Joplin, Arlo Gutherie, Creedence Clearwater Revival and MORE!

Electric Sign: Town has given their approval and we will now present to the Adirondack Park Agency.
This informational sign will be for both Horicon & Chester events being held by all community groups

Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, The Rotary, The Priory, Northern Warren Snowmobile Club, Town Festivals, Fire Departments, Chamber of Commerce, TLBA, etc. There will be no business advertising and monies are still needed to actually make the sign. Any non-profits or groups who will benefit from this sign please consider making a donation – checks can be mailed to the North Warren Chamber of Commerce.

Car Hop: Next Car Hop is scheduled for June 12th at 5PM – help get the word out as these are a lot of fun for a few hours out on a Friday night – rain date is always the following Friday.

Rack Cards: Over 2500 Rack Cards have been brought to local businesses and another 2500 have been ordered. These will fit in the bill folders used at restaurants, and rack card holders put by business cash registers. The TLBA has purchased these (+/- $450) with monies from our fund raising events and we hope all business will help distribute these throughout the year to let visitors & locals know what events are planned for 2015.

Woof Stock: June 20-21. Festival will be held at the field behind the Chester Town Hall and will run from 9AM to +/-5PM Saturday and 9AM to 3-4PM on Sunday – Great way to spend a part of Father’s Day!!!! Current flyer showing events attached – please post and share. Again, volunteers are needed to take an hour or two at the TLBA information booth so let us know if you can help!

Farmers Market: Opening day will be June 17 at 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Helpers are again needed for 9:00AM set up and 2:00PM tear down so if anyone can sign up for a few days, let Cindy know which days and time! email [email protected].

The Town of Chester will be doing a new feasibility study for a town sewer system. This was one of the original ideas the TLBA had to bring to Chestertown and Don will be keeping track of progress.

Golf Outing: The annual Golf Outing to benefit the TBLA will be held Friday October 2nd at Cronins. 1PM start with dinner afterward. Anyone willing to help with this please call Doug O’Brien @ #494-4565 or email [email protected]

Rustic Charm Pottery: reminder that this business is a Co-Op with locally made crafts and art so check it out and support your local business and artisans!
