March 16, 2017 - Meeting called to order by Don Butler at 9 a.m.
- Brant Lake Winter Carnival went well. Attendance was down this year affected by the weather. There will be a wrap up meeting after this meeting. Foosball was our biggest outlay of money. We decided to focus on print and social media this year. Advertisements on Foosball walls helped greatly with expenses. Brandon thanked all who participated and helped with the event.
- Donnie reported that Gore reported a record turnout during President’s Week/restaurants reported same. This will be their 60th anniversary year for the Whitewater Derby.
- Jeff Wilson from Luzerne Music Center made a presentation on what their organization is about. They hire faculty and have students from all over the world. During the summer they give free concerts on Fridays and paid concerts on Saturdays. They bring in a number of guest artists during the season. Students attending range in ages 9-13 and 14-18. Maximum capacity is 92 attendees. Junior session starts June 15 and Senior session starts August 17 this year. They require $1 million operational funding and they are donor funded. They will be having a site walk on Thursday, March 16 at 1 p.m. They are currently looking for help in funding a renovation project for some of their buildings which are in need of replacement/updating.
- Tri-Lakes Business Alliance received a $20 prize for winning the “Kraziest Run” with Jaki Rainsberger and her son making the race down the hill representing us.
- St. Patrick’s Day Parade – the bagpipers will be performing at the P’House at 2:00 p.m.; Odd Duck at 2:30 p.m. and Bullhouse at 3:00 p.m. The parade will stop in front of the P’House for the National Anthem which will be sung by Jaki Rainsberger on the grandstand. North Warren High School Class of 2020 will be selling hamburgers/hot dogs during and after the parade.
- Adirondack Woofstock is scheduled for June 3 and 4.
- Farmers Market begins on June 14 this year.
- Summerfest will be on July 8 with Fireworks after.
- St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2018 will be on March 17th.
- It was decided it will be best to do the Rack Cards beginning with summer events and ending with spring events.
- There will be a concert at Lake George on April 30th and it was suggested that people from Chester should attend this one.
