Pedal to Plate: May 19: Adirondack area bike ride, “Pedal to Plate,” a 55-mile culinary tour of the North Country circling three scenic lakes and traveling through picturesque Adirondack hamlets. An Adirondack Woof Stock: June 2-3. T-Shirt sponsorships are available for $125 and again, your support is appreciated! Last year the TLBA came out $339 in the black for this event so your support in T-Shirt sponsorships is greatly needed!!! And thank you to the Town of Chester for their $6,000 Occupancy Tax grant! $1,500 was also received from the Town of Horicon ($2,000 was requested as in past years) for Woof Stock on the Mill Pond being held that Saturday night (featuring the STONY CREEK BAND!!!) and this too is appreciated, as we moved the Saturday night festivities to Horicon to share in the weekend long festivities that puts “Heads in Beds” for the weekend. Car Hops: Starting in June and running to September! 1st Friday of the month at The Hub, 3rd Friday of the month at The Panther Mt. Inn. Suggested instead of $50 trophy sponsors each week business get together and donate $250 per event to provide live music, have better prizes, etc. like the North Creek Car Shows. Email us your opinion on this!

Banners for Town Poles: Designs have been approved by the committee and after approval is given from the Towns (hopefully this week) we will be sending out info on how to get yours up for this summer. 6-8 designs will be available showing activities in our area (snowmobiling, swimming, bicycling, etc) and they will be available for the Towns of Chester, Brant Lake, Pottersville & Adirondack. Cost is $150 (the previous banners lasted 4 years so it’s a good bang for your buck, plus it enhances the look of our towns) and monies are paid directly to Garnet Signs (The TLBA makes no money on this, we just get it organized as a service to our community).

Tri-Lakes Business Alliance Meeting

March 9, 2018

Meeting called to order at 9 a.m.  Adirondack Firefighters Foundation made $1600 at their fundraiser. 

Spinal Cord Benefit at Jimbo’s broke the ½ million dollar mark last year. 

Downhill Derby had great weather, fantastic crowd, new cardboard box kid’s race was fun, and the People’s Choice award was the Whale with water spout which everyone enjoyed.

Chamber News:  There is a chamber mixer at the Odd Duck tonight from 4-6 p.m. with cash bar.  Lynn and Deb will not be at the parade this year as they’ll be at another event south of us to promote chambers and area.     Economic Development meeting coming in April. 

St. Patrick’s Day Parade – there is more  interest than ever before this year.  Chestertown “Blarney Stone” is in place and each kisser will receive a “Lips” sticker.  We are still looking for a basic weight bench to place in front of it for participants.  Table will be set up to sell sweatshirts and buttons(marking the event).  Jackie is working on getting volunteers from the high school and Jack from the “Y” as well to wear the dog and snowman costumes.  MOAS will be selling burgers and dogs.  Several fire companies will be participating as well as the Odd Duck owners will be in costume meandering up and down the parade route.  Ad.net had a blast on the parade and the Sun had an article on some bagpipers in the area and mentioned our parade.  Read more →
