Taste of the Tri-Lakes and Rotary Memory Tree lighting: November 29, 2016.
Taste of the Tri-Lakes 5:30-7:30 – Tree Lighting at 6:30. This year’s tree was donated by John & Ann Colburg. Special recognition will be given to Rotarians Ed Bellinger & Jim Crawford who passed away this year. $1 per ticket for restaurant samples, free coffee & smores! Enjoy a fun community night and bring in the season with family and friends!
All restaurants who plan on participating please let us know! DOH forms are being hand delivered and sent via email so please get your forms in to the DOH asap and let us know if you’ll be attending. This event is obviously not about you making money, but about giving back to the community and thanking the ‘locals’ who will keep your business alive during the +/- 8 months our tourism season is not here! Hopefully our 25% ‘give-back’ on ticket sales helps offset your expenses, but in our small community, building relationships makes success, and this is the perfect opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ and enjoy an easy, fun filled evening that brings in the holiday season!
Fundraiser for Alon: There will be a Basket Raffle Benefit for Alon Abare on Sunday, November 20th, at the Chestertown Municipal Center with doors opening at 12:30 and Drawing at 2PM. Thank you all in advance for your support for Lonny Cakes.
Operation Santa Claus: Donations are being accepted by the North Warren School so donate if you can! It makes a big difference in many of our children’s lives!
Santa Claus is coming to town December 10th at the Chester Municipal Center. A Dedication Day will also be held sometime between Christmas and New Years (with our own Olympic Athlete Abe Studler making an appearance!) for the opening of the new tow lift at Dynamite Hill. Both events are sponsored by the Chestertown Rotary.
North Creek Alliance: Joel represented the North Creek Alliance and suggested we all work together on our events. They will be having bi-weekly Cruise Nights on alternate weeks of our Car Hops in the summer (they receive +/- $1300 from the town of Johnsburg Occupancy Tax for these events!). More info to follow. Good place to advertise: www.capitalcarshows.com
Holiday Art Show: being held Friday November 18th – January 7th at the ART in Chestertown. Gallery is open Fri-Sunday 11-5. Unfortunately this is the last show at the ART as they will be closing after the first of the year.
Community Flyer: We will try to get the dates for our events and the 2017 Event Flyer out sometime in January so we can send it out to the lake associations before they print their spring newsletter. Events must be submitted by the end of November to the Warren County Event manager to get items in the magazine.
Brant Lake Winter Carnival: February 25, 2017. We’ll have our first meeting after Thanksgiving so let us know if you’d like to help out!
St. Patrick’s’ Day Parade: March 11, 2017

Jimbo’s will be re-opening for the season December 1st, 2nd and December 8th on the regular Thurs-Sat, with chef Chuck Jennings returning!
