Taste of the Tri-Lakes and Rotary Memory Tree lighting: November 29, 2016. All restaurants who plan on participating please let us know! DOH forms are being hand delivered and sent via email so please get your forms in to the DOH asap and let us know if you’ll be attending. This event is obviously not about you making money, but about giving back to the community and thanking the ‘locals’ who will keep your business alive during the +/- 8 months our tourism season is not here! Hopefully our 25% ‘give-back’ on ticket sales helps offset your expenses, but in our small community, building relationships makes success, and this is the perfect opportunity to ‘pay it forward’ and enjoy an easy, fun filled evening that brings in the holiday season!
Fundraiser for Alon: There will be a Basket Raffle Benefit for Alon Abare on Sunday, November 20th, at the Chestertown Municipal Center with doors opening at 12:30 and Drawing at 2PM. Please remember that any basket donations must be dropped off by Wed Nov 16th at the Chestertown municipal center or at the Tin Teepee before 2:00 p.m. If anyone needs a basket picked up please call the TP at 494-5555. Thank you all in advance for your support and love for Lonny Cakes.
Warren County Tourism: wants to get together with groups to help with our events. JoAnne Connolly, Director of Warren County Tourism would like a joint meeting with our Chamber of Commerce. Supervisor Craig Leggett is on the county tourism committee. They are trying to book a whole Adirondack itinerary for lodging, meals etc. and lodging owners are needed. There were various meetings in past weeks (see attached) and I apologize for not getting this out in time but please feel free to call the numbers listed or contact JoAnne at the County center to get involved.
Rob Smith: running for Family Court Judge, attended our meeting and expressed how impressed he was with all our little community has to offer.
Wayne LaMothe explained that the Town of Chester gets $25 ‘in kind credit’ (per hour) for each signature we get from each of our meetings. Our TLBA meetings count as 2 hours (counting in driving time, etc) so we get a $50 ‘credit’ for every person who attends these meetings! The TLBA periodically sends these signature lists in, resulting in a hefty contribution to our town monies as the county then matches these community project funds.
Congratulations to NW Cougars! Congratulations to the North Warren Soccer team and Cross-country teams for their awesome accomplishments this fall! Proud to be a Cougar!!!!!
