Tri Lakes Business Alliance Minutes, March 7, 2014

Meeting opened at 9:05 a.m. by Don Butler, President.

Annual Meeting – Donnie announced that today is our official Annual Meeting.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade – step off will be at 1 p.m. There are 40 participants, including bagpipers from Glens Falls, a single musician from Warrensburg school playing a Saxophone, etc. We need a couple of people to carry the Tri Lakes banner and we’ll need volunteers to blow up the balloons. Helena volunteered to do the balloons with her daughter’s help and Randy and Patty Berg agreed to carry the banner. The dance studio in town will be raising funds for their future trip by selling hot dogs/hamburgers. They needed rolls and the Pepperidge Farm rep who delivers to McCluskeys agreed to donate the rolls for no charge.

ATV Group is having their run on March 17 and the proceeds from that will go to the Helper’s Fund. Read more →

Meeting Minutes: February 21, 2014

  • Brant Lake Winter Carnival was a huge success and many thanks to the committee and all the people who donated their time and energy to making this happen! $282 was raised in the pack basket raffle for the TLBA and we’re looking forward to this being a yearly event! The winner of the basket donated it back to the Alliance so we have the opportunity to raffle it off again!
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for March 8th with a 1pm step off. There are currently 27 groups signed up and all local businesses are challenged to bring a float! Help is still needed from Alliance members to assist with traffic so contact Keith Wilkinson #588-5136 or Don Butler #573-4386 for more information or if you can help! Meeting Minutes: February 7, 2014

  • Brant Lake Winter Carnival is set for Saturday February 8th, starting @ 11am with Fireworks at dusk. Committee reported that all was ready to go! Brandon explained that Jimbo’s had volunteered to pick up the entire cost of the band for that day/evening but the committee had voted to pay for half this time. In the future, Event Committees will make the decision on what is paid for by the TLBA and what is not, so members are urged to join these satellite committees to get their opinions heard.
  • Down Hill Derby is planned for Saturday, February 22nd so get your sleds ready and contact the Chamber of Commerce for more information.
  • St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for March 8th with a 1pm step off. This year there will be a Bouncey Bounce for the kids, Kettle Corn and Cotton Candy. Floats from Local Businesses, Bands, Firehouses, Schools and Scout troops are all needed so please contact Don Butler or Keith Wilkinson for more information! Read more →

  • Brant Lake Winter Carnival is set for Saturday February 8th, starting @ 11am with Fireworks at dusk. Again, a huge Thank You to The Town of Horicon for their generous donation to help with this event! We still need a few volunteers for that day to assist with the Main Desk and sign-ups, parking, bonfire attendants, etc. so if you can help out in any way for an hour time slot, let us know! We still need teams for organized Broom Ball games – if you have a team, we have the Broomball sticks and balls so just let us know! Randy & Patti Berg have collected $845 for cash prizes for the Out House Race that day so if you’re planning on entering a team for either the Broom Ball Tournaments or Out House Races, please contact Cindy Mead at [email protected] to pre-register. The Stony Creek Band will be playing after the firework display.
    Alliance agreed to purchase additional insurance to cover rented or borrowed vehicles for all of the TLBA events (+/- $130 a year). There will be a shuttle service at the Carnival this year because a large crowd is expected, and this coverage will undoubtedly be utilized in the future. Read more →

Meeting Minutes: January 10, 2014

  • The Northern Warren Trailblazers Winter White-Out is planned for Saturday, January 18th, from 12pm to 5pm at the Club House on Knapp Hill. All are welcome to attend to enjoy Live Music by Finger Diddle, a Barbeque being served from 1pm to 4pm, Bonfires, and the drawing for a 2014 Ski Doo MXZ Sport 600 at 4:30. Second prize is a 2013 Triton Trailer. Cost for the Barbeque is $15 at the gate, with children under 10 Free. Raffle tickets for the snowmobile can be purchased at local businesses or by calling Mike Hill at #796-1603.
  • The North Country Hardship Fund will be having a Cabin Fever Party at the Panther Mt. Inn on Friday, January 24th beginning at 7am with Live Music, snacks and give aways. $5 entry fee goes to the Hardship Fund which encompasses the entire North Country. Read more →
