Adirondack Journal: Alliance schedules North Warren events

A vendor at a 2012 session of the Chestertown Farmers’ Market describes his condiments and herbs to a shopper — who holds a bouquet of fresh cut flowers she purchased at the popular venue, which opens Wednesday June 18 for the 2013 season. The Triu-Lakes Business Alliance, sponsors of the market, have been lining up their events and schedules this week for the summer season. The Chestertown Farmers' Market has been lauded as an overwhelming success that's boosted commerce in northern Warren County, as well as strengthening social ties in town. The market features a wide range of produce, gourmet foods and handcrafted goods. The Alliance has meanwhile developed a series of themed events that have been remarkably popular and have helped enhance community spirit in the region.<br /> Courtesy photo

Adirondack Journal: Chester citizens seek to revive the historic Carol Theater

A full house of 300 people attended a vaudeville show held last September in the Carol Theater of Chestertown in conjunction with the first-ever Rum-Runners’ Weekend. Partially due to the success of this event, an initiative to resuscitate the historic theater has been launched, with a vision of offering concerts, shows, musicals and other performing arts onstage after it is refurbished. Meeting Minutes: April 5, 2014

  • The Best Community Events Contest being held by the APA has 5 entries from our area (Brant Lake Winter Carnival, Rum Runners Weekend, County Bi-Centennial, Down Hill Derby, and Horicon Day) and Bob Olson will be attending the presentation ceremony as a representative to hopefully accept an award or two!
  • The TLBA committee for the North Warren Scholarship will be meeting again and will get the necessary forms to the school for this year’s graduation. Scholarship will be for $500.
  • The Wine Tasting on April 23rd (as shown on the placemats) is an error. There will be a beer tasting at the Panther Mt Inn sometime in April. Exact date and time to follow. Read more →

Tri Lakes Business Alliance Meeting Minutes, March 21, 2014

Meeting opened at 9:05 a.m. by Don Butler, President.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade – one of the local restaurants said they had their best night ever for business and another said it was their 3rd best night. Wrap up meeting will be planned for the near future.

ATV Group is having their run on March 17. Set up will be at 11 a.m. at Tin Teepee Campgrounds. Proceeds will go to the Helper’s Fund. It was noted that previous rides have been very successful. Read more →
