Rack Cards: Brandon and Patty Berg are working on the list and just have to get the information for the chamber’s side of the card finalized.
Thank You Mixer: to be held on Sunday, April 24, 2-4 p.m. at The Bullhouse Restaurant as a Thank You to those who donated to the cost of the Electronic Bulletin Board. Letters of invitation are being sent out. They are planning for about 100 to attend.
Electronic Bulletin Board – Fred Holman will be attending the meeting of the zoning board on April 26th to get final approval. Brandon announced that the committee got together with the chamber staff to establish some guidelines for use of the sign.
CORRECTION TO LAST MINUTES ON Bed Tax: Town of Horicon has approved bed tax funds for Brant Lake Winter Carnival, $1,000 and we applied to the Town of Chester for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, $1200.
North Warren Central School – “The Lion King” production performed to a full house all three days. Thanks goes out to the two teachers who directed this production through hours of hard work for the enjoyment of the whole community.
Outdoors Alive Event – Fred Holman announced that they have sent for a Big Foot costume and that someone will be appearing in it at different locations around the area. Someone will be taking pictures of the “sightings”. There will be lots of different events this year. Friday night will start off with a talk about “Big Foot”;Saturday will include events on Archery, Air Rifle Shooting Range, Climbing Wall, Metal Detecting, Hunter and Pistol Safety Courses, Scouts will be working on Map and Compass and it will end on Sunday with a live wolf with the rescue group. The dates of the event will be September 23, 24 and 25.
Schroon Lake Chamber – Tammy, President of the Schroon Lake Chamber shared some of the work they are doing to get word out about what is happening in their area. They are working with Word of Life to get information packets out to the people who stay at Word of Life during the season about things to do in this area. She suggested we might want to get something about our events to them to go into the packets as well.
Carol Theater – Al Tolomeo shared information about events they are doing which will include all kinds of music like country, bluegrass, blues, Rock & Roll, Beatles tribute, Big Band Jazz, Charles Cornell Quartet tribute to Dave Brubeck, and even an old time radio show (The Lone Ranger). They are selling 10 verbal ads w/10 tickets on stage for $130. This performance will be in August. More info to come.
