Tri-Lakes Business Alliance General Board Meeting Minutes 4-29-16

Car Hops: May to September – 1st Friday of every month at the Panther Mt. Inn, 3rd Friday of every month at the Hub beginning at 5PM. Rain dates will be the following Friday. $40 Trophy sponsors are needed for each event… contact Donnie or Drew if you want to sponsor a Hop! Volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets are also needed each evening so if you can help let us know!

Brew Fest: Has been canceled and a proposed “Spirit Tasting” might be held in the future as a fund raiser.

VIP for the North Warren Chamber for 2016: May 12th – Reserve your ticket through the Chamber. Reservations should be made by May 5. Cost is $30 including tax and gratuity with check to be paid to North Warren Chamber of Commerce. No cash entries at door.

Thank You Mixer: Held Sunday, April 24, 2-4 p.m. at The Bull House Restaurant as a Thank You to those who donated to the cost of the Electronic Bulletin Board had a very disappointing turn-out but thank you to all who helped make this addition to our town possible!

Carol Theatre: Help is still needed to sell 50/50 tickets at the intermission of a few performances this summer – July 30 (Professor Louie & the Crowmatix – Blues, Rock N Roll, Gospel & American Roots) ANDAugust 20 (Adirondack Jazz Project Big Band, with our own Al Tolomeo). An Adirondack Woof Stock: June 18-19. You can still get your business name on the back of the Tee-shirts we will be selling – cost is $100 and space is limited so contact [email protected] if you’d like to be a sponsor.

Golf Tournament: Friday August 19th at Cronins. 1PM Shotgun start. John MacMillan and Angie Mead will head this committee with Donnie, Cindy, Al, Randy, Patty, Doug (?) Please save the date and consider sponsoring a hole and/or entering a team – promises to be a great Tourney!!!!

Group approved a 1/4 page ad in the Southern Adirondack magazine (sponsored by the First Wilderness Heritage Corridor) and which will include 3/4 page write-up on the TLBA.

North Warren School update: Bernie McCann gave a presentation on what is new at the school:
*20 hours community service now needed to graduate, being phased in over the next few years
*Free & reduced lunch services – donations requested to send food home to identified students (30) for long weekends and vacations. TLBA approved a $500 contribution.
*There will be a Summer Reading Program in conjunction with the YMCA for 1st & 2nd graders. School will provide bus transportation.

Abe Studler makes US Olympic Ski Team! This is a HUGE accomplishment and raffles, etc. will be held in our area over the next few months to help with Abe’s expenses. Abe is from Brant Lake and your support for this great honor he has received will be appreciated!
