Ø Members of the TLBA will be meeting with the Chamber of Commerce and both Town Supervisors to discuss the future of the Tri-Lakes Business Alliance. Additional help, both financially and with manpower, is needed for the TLBA to continue with many of their events, and hopefully this meeting will bring about some changes.
Ø Northern Warren Trailblazers Annual Snowball and sled raffle drawing will be held Saturday, January 12th, from 3PM-9PM at OP Fredericks.
Ø North Creek has canceled the rail bike trails.
Ø Brant Lake Winter Carnival Occupancy Tax request has been submitted to Horicon. The Carnival is February 16th this year with the NW Chamber’s Downhill Derby on the 23rd, allowing time over February break for students to put a sled together. We’ll also be getting in touch with the Northern Warren Trailblazers to see if they could hold some sort of event on the lake the day of the Carnival.
Ø Chamber of Commerce: They are compiling info from the survey that was sent out to get a plan going.
Ø YMCA: Will hopefully be reopening in Brant Lake after the holidays.
Ø Taste of the Tri-Lakes: About 150 people attended and the TLBA netted around $900 at this fund raiser, one of the only ones we have throughout the year – Thank you to all the restaurants and businesses that participated and especially those who donated their ticket money back to the Alliance!
Ø Rotary Santa: over 200 children were given wrapped gifts & a book last month – Kudos’s to the Rotary for this yearly event!
Ø TLBA Meeting Changes: Meetings will now be held once a month – the 2nd Friday of each month at 9am at the Panther Mt. Inn. Same rules apply! Meetings last 1 hr. / Only 1 person speaks at a time…. You do NOT have to be a business owner to attend and we really need more participation from individuals and business owners to keep this entity active!
Ø Animation Festival: Fred Holman is working with others in the area to set up an 3 day weekend Animation Festival in our area as there are currently only 2 similar events, one in Vermont and one in NYC. For more information contact Fred Holman!
Ø Conversation was again held on forming a 501C3 so the TLBA and the Theatre would be eligible for grants. Anyone with the knowledge and time to do this would be greatly appreciated!
