A group of Local Business owners in the Chestertown, Pottersville, and Brant Lake area have begun to organize a group to try and bring some changes to our towns. We have met twice at this point, to share ideas and happenings, and our goal is to work together to promote businesses and growth to our communities. North Creek formed a similar alliance a few years ago, and has had great success with organizing events, applying for and receiving grant monies, and just generally improving the economic development of their town. This email is being sent to those who have attended these meetings, as well as others who were possibly not aware of the group, but would be an asset because the more minds and voices we have, the better.
Meetings are very informal & are being held every other Friday morning at 9am @ the Panther Mountain Inn. There are only two rules:
#1. Only one person speaks at a time.
#2 The meetings last for only one hour.
Four businesses have closed in Chestertown in the past few months: The Bagel Girls, Uri motorcycles, Becky’s Bloomers and Anywheres. We need to bring more people into our towns to support businesses, not sit back and watch them close their doors.
The next scheduled meeting is Friday, December 16th, 9am @ The Panther Mt. Inn. Even if you can’’t attend all the meetings, everyone’s input and energy can make a difference.
