General Board Meeting Minutes: October 2, 2015
Election of Officers: There will be a vote for Election of Officers at our next meeting on October 16th at 9AM at the Panther Mt. Inn.
Anyone wishing to become an officer should attend.
Farmers Market: CFM has ended for the year with over 12,000 people coming thru the gate!!! (last year there were a little over 900). Many thanks to the committee members (Mary Jane Dower, Dee Beckler, Randy & Patty Berg, Angie Mead, Karen Burka, Carol Monroe, Barbara Thomas & Cindy Mead) and to the volunteers who helped with set-up and tear-down each week! Vendors and Buyers alike love the market and we look forward to another fantastic year in 2016!
Golf Outing: Scheduled for October 2nd – Follow up details at next meeting.
Rum Runners Weekend: Bigger & Better than last year! The new Gambling Night was a great success, may have it as a standalone event in the future as attendance on a Thursday night made it difficult for some to attend. Committee will try to get more themed cars for the Parade on Saturday and Vaudeville Show may be tweaked to entice more attendants but all in all the town dropped back to the 1920’s and a fun and profitable weekend was had by all!
Town Wide Garage Sale: Sponsored by the NW Chamber of Commerce will be held throughout Chestertown and Horicon on October 3-4. Contact the Chamber for info on how to sign up!
Car Hop: Last one of the season, weather permitting, Friday October 9th at 5PM at the Panther Mt. Inn.
Sportsman’s Weekend: Was a success for its 1st year and the Chamber is looking to have this as a yearly fall event.
Taste of the Tri-Lakes: Scheduled for the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving (December 1st) to coincide with the Rotary Memory Tree Lighting in the center of town. Looking for restaurant participants, music & a youth group to help make smores so get in touch if you’d like to join us! More info to follow.
Budget Request was given to both Horicon and Chester for the TLBA’s 2016 events. (Winter Carnival, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, An Adirondack Woof Stock, Rum Runners & A Taste of the Tri-Lakes).
Wine Tasting: The TLBA will not be having a Wine Tasting this year – possible alternate with annual Golf Tournament for a fund raising event and pair the wine with chocolate.
Fundraisers: If we had filled up the Carol Theatre at the Comedy Show a few weeks ago, the TLBA would have made a good amount of monies so we didn’t have to do as many fund raisers and continue to ask businesses for donations, etc. PLEASE support these benefit concerts in the future as you would have a great evening out AND be a great supporter of the Alliance.
Committee Members: See attached list with the Committee members for our events. More volunteers are always needed so even if you can help with just one event, Please let us know!
