General Board Meeting Minutes: June 13, 2014

  • Car Hop: Next one is June 20th @ 5 PM at the Panther Mt. Inn. This was moved up a week because of rain on the scheduled date.
  • Craft Brew Fest: $2,755 was taken in at the very successful Brew Fest on May 31st, with around $2,000 netted to benefit the TLBA and the scholarship to be given to a graduating North Warren senior. A huge “Thank You” to Jacob & Tony’s and the Panther Mt. Pub for their generous donation of foods! Also thanks to the Becklers for their donation of wrist bands that helped make the event a success!
  • Chestertown Farmer’s Market is ready for Opening Day on Wednesday June 18th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. They have a full house this year…. only a few more vendor spots available!!!!! All our old friends (great veggies, baked goods, crepes, fish, wines, meats and cheese) plus a new coffee/tea vendor, a blacksmith, a silver jewelry maker, a Taco tent and more!!!! Great music line up too!!!!!!

General Board Meeting Minutes: May 30, 2014

  • Car Hop: Next one is June 13th @ 5 PM at the Panther Mt. Inn.
  • Craft Brew Fest: May 31st, 5 PM to 8 PM at the Panther Mt. Inn to benefit the TLBA and the scholarship to be given to a graduating North Warren senior. Food will be donated by the Inn at their cost. $25 admission.
  • APAC: The Adirondack Performing Arts Council will be co-sponsoring a Live Jazz Webcast from Lincoln Center on June 6th – Doors open at 6:30 with Clay Man (experimental jazz rock), a 5 piece band from Burlington, VT. at 7 PM and the live webcast beginning at 8 PM. Admission is free. The Warren County Ramblers , an Adirondack Blue Grass group, will be coming Wednesday, June 18 at 6:30 pm at the Carol Theater. Admission is $10 and help is needed to sell tickets & candy and help clean up afterward. Anyone able to help out should call Al Tolomeo at #494-5318.
    Al and Fred Holman of The Art in Chestertown, from the North Country Arts Center went over a meeting they had to put APAC under the NCAC so it could be a 501-C nonprofit organization. Brandon will be adding another page to the TLBA website calendar to advertise upcoming events and we’d like to remind you all to refer to this calendar at https://trilakesalliance.com for everything that’s happening in our tri-lake area! The next general APAC meeting will be Thursday, June 5th, 10 AM at Gallo Realty.

Upcoming Event: Brew Fest on Saturday

We hope you will join us Saturday, May 31st 5pm to 8pm for our first Craft Brew Fest – a ‘wine tasting’ for beer enthusiasts! Test your knowledge of the history of beer while sampling various craft beers at this fun-filled evening! Silent auctions and raffles with Food provided by the Panther Mt. Pub. We are planning:

  • lots of great food
  • silent auctions for awesome gifts
  • taste some craft brews and
  • see how you rank in the beer trivia category!

This is a fundraiser for the TLBA to help with our scholarship program being awarded to North Warren graduating senior! We are asking for a $25 donation to join in on the fun.

Promises to be a fun night for a good cause!

General Board Meeting Minutes: May 16, 2014

  • Car Hop: Because of the weather, 11 cars entered the Car Hope last week and $60 was raised for the TLBA in the 50/50 raffle. Next Car Hop is scheduled for June 13th.
  • ATV Ride to Benefit The Helpers Fund. 126 riders participated and $2,177 was made for the Helper’s Fund. Another ride is planned in July with proceeds going to the Tri-Lakes Business Alliance. Current TLBA checkbook balance is $1,004.32. Insurance is due as well as the pledged $500 NW Scholarship and these upcoming fundraisers are necessary for the TLBA to continue to function, so please support these worthwhile and fun events!
  • Craft BrewFest: Fund raiser on Saturday, May 31st, 5 PM to 8 PM at the Panther Mt. Inn. Come and enjoy a night of Beer tasting with numerous brewers on hand for brief presentations on the history of beer! Panther Mt. Inn will be donating food at their cost. Entrance fee is $25.00 and all proceeds will go to the Tri-Lakes Business Alliance.
  • Carol Theatre: The APAC committee’s Open House generated $238 in donations, a DBA has been formed and a separate PO Box and checking account for APAC has been established. It was suggested the group approach the town for startup monies and letters will be going out to businesses for donations to help with advertising and other costs relating to the upcoming performances. No monies will be invested in the theatre or the building itself. The Adirondack Performing Arts Council Open House

The Alliance is excited to share the formation of a new community organization. The group, the Adirondack Performing Arts Council (APAC), based in Chestertown, is dedicated to facilitating the experience of the performing arts within the Adirondack community and beyond. APAC’s home base will be the Carol Theater and events have been scheduled already for this summer. We all agree that this will be a great asset to our community.

Check out their new website at adkpac.webs.com, and their facebook page, or on Instagram at @adkpac. Remember to “Like” them and “Share”. In addition, we recommend you read this article by Derick Borst on the Founding of APAC.

There will be an Open House Fund Raiser on May 9th to correspond with the Car Hop so stop in and check it out! Funds are needed for this project for advertising & theater electric costs and committee will be sending a letter out to local businesses and individuals for donations to get them started. Performers will be paid by a portion of ticket sales.

The Carol Theater building is also officially for sale, and anyone interested in more information should contact Cindy Mead at Gallo Realty.
