General Board Meeting Minutes: October 3, 2014

  • Tim Davis of Superior Plus Energy Service gave a presentation of their services and offered a propane proposal for a TLBA Co-Op for fuel. Company is based out of Gansevoort and they have an office in Warrensburg. Propane Rate for Customer Owned equipment is .55 over terminal cost, Company provided equipment .70 over terminal cost. If you are receiving these emails you are a member of the TLBA and eligible to be part of the Co-Op. Call Tim Davis at (W) #584-3050 or (Cell) #222-7264 for more information.
  • ATV Poker Ride for Toys for Tots held on September had 143 riders and made $2,786 for Toys for Tots as well as 8+ bags of toys. A few riders didn’t respect the rules and this behavior could jeopardize future events so we ask all who participate to ride accordingly, and feel free to use peer pressure toward those who don’t abide by the rules. These are great fund raisers for great causes and we’d hate to see them end because of a a small number of people.
  • Wine Tasting Fund Raiser will be held November 12th from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Suzie Q’s in Brant Lake. Donations are needed to raffle off so call Linda at #494-4898 or drop off items at Gallo Realty if you’d like to give a basket or gift certificate. It was voted to give the committee $150 for advertising, etc. This is one of the few fund raisers the TLBA has every year to offset expenses of our events, insurance, advertising, etc. so please give graciously and plan on stopping by for a great evening!

General Board Meeting Minutes: September 19, 2014

  • Rum Runner’s Weekend. Kudos and thanks to the committee and all community members who attended making this a great weekend! Thanks to the Don’s Posse for getting power to the theater in 20 minutes so the show could go on! Next year’s date is September 18, 19 & 20 so mark your calendars now and reserve the weekend! Power outage and weather affected the businesses a bit and it was suggested the restaurants organize their own ‘committee’ to capitalize on the events the TLBA organizes (joint ads in newspapers, etc). Brandon Himoff made a great video of the theatre performance which can be purchased for $10 at the Panther Mt. Pub, Main St. Ice Cream Parlor, The Lazy Moose, and at future TLBA events. Lots of photos on Face Book & our website!
  • ATV Poker Ride for Toys for Tots (NEW DATE) will now be held September 27th beginning at the Tin Tee Pee and cruising to the top of Panther Mountain, through Chestertown and down to the Mansions returning to the Tin Tee Pee by 5 for a cook out. Volunteers are needed for road crossings, etc. so anyone who can help out call Donnie at #573-4386. Group would like to add The Hub, The Lazy Moose and Suzie Q’s to the stops but a resident on New Street has denied access to their property so more research needs to be done to find another trail. New un-wrapped toys can be brought to the Panther Mt. Inn or the Tin Tee Pee for the Toys for Tots program.
  • Women’s Business Expo is being held Sunday, September 28th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Green Mansions Golf Course. Come out and support your local small business owners & direct sales representatives and see what our small community has to offer! Music by Dylan Joseph, light snacks provided, cash bar, free giveaways and it’s free to attend so grab your friends and family for a few hours of fun and socializing!

General Board Meeting Minutes: September 5, 2014

  • Rum Runner’s Weekend. September 12,13 & 14. Lots of great events planned including a new Scavenger Hunt where you can find the clues and win great prizes. Register and pick up your ballet where theatre tickets are being sold or download from the website http://tiny.cc/rrhunt . Signs will be put out in front of participating establishments declaring them an “A Rum Runner Accomplice on the Bootlegger Trail”. Car Shows are scheduled for the Panther Mt. Inn and the Lucky E Star in Warrensburg on Friday night with the Chester cars traveling to Warrensburg in search of the Notorious Bootleggers Wesley & Gisell. Jazz bands at the Speak Easy both Friday and Saturday night with a terrific Vaudeville Show starring Melissa MacMillan at the Carol Theatre on Saturdayafternoon. Seating is limited for the show and we sold out last year so buy your tickets early (available at Main St. ICP, The Bull House, the Panther Mt. Pub and the Farmer’s Market). Free carriage rides from Circle B Ranch to bring you around town to enjoy $19.25 restaurant specials! Anyone with a classic car interested in joining in the Landon Hill cruise, meet at the Black Bear at 9 AM for a Rum Runnin’ breakfast with the ‘run’ beginning at 10. The Hub will also be participating this year and the “Tweeds” will be riding bicycles from Brant Lake on Saturday morning to meet the Rum Runners Car Chase over Landon Hill where all will ‘parade’ to the field behind the town hall for some Babe Ruth Baseball, where the Sophomore class will be selling hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts and Cracker Jacks! A huge thanks to the Northern Warren Trailblazers for supplying the popcorn machine and all the pop corn fixings for the weekend! Look for a full schedule of events in a separate email.
  • Bike Night held last Wednesday netted $76 on the 50/50 raffle and this event will be continued next year.
  • Car Shows are scheduled for Friday of Rum Runners Weekend beginning at 5 PM at the Panther Mt. Inn and traveling to the Lucky E Star in Warrensburg. Another show is scheduled for Sunday, September 14th from 11 AM to 1 PM with awards being given out at the Rum Runner’s Brunch being held at the Bull House during the same time period. These will be the last Car Shows of the season.
  • APAC: No more performances are scheduled for this year and committee has asked to meet with a few TLBA directors to discuss future plans.

General Board Meeting Minutes: August 22, 2014

  • Rum Runner’s Weekend committee is meeting again Wednesday, Sept 3rd, 5PM at the Panther Mt. Pub and anyone interested in helping organize the event is welcome to attend. Great sales on the internet for 1920’s costumes! We are asking all businesses to dress for the era so when people come to town they drop back into the 1920’s. Signs will be put out in front of participating establishments declaring them an ““A Rum Runner Accomplice on the Bootlegger Trail”. There will be a Scavenger Hunt this year and one of the ‘finds’ is to bring in a $19.25 receipt from a participating restaurant. Car Shows are scheduled for the Panther Mt.   • APAC: a Shakespeare performance of Henry V will be held at the Carol Theatre on Saturday August 23rd. Admission is $20 – $25.
  • The Adirondack Shin-Dig raised over $5,000 for the church repairs! A great success!
  • Warrensburg’s Largest Garage Sale will be diverting traffic to Exit 25 this year, so the North Warren Townwide Sale should be an even bigger hit! Contact the Chamber of Commerce if you’re planning on having a sale that weekend and would like to be put on the map!
