General Board Meeting Minutes: August 8, 2014

• ATV RIDE on July 26^th had 126 riders netting $2,199 for the TLBA. A new check-in spot on top of Panther Mountain was a huge hit, and the event went off smoothly. Cash Prizes of $250 1^st place, $150 2^nd place and $100 3^rd place were given out and 1^st place winner Janine Best donated $150 back to the Alliance. A huge thanks to Don Butler, Ed Jay, the Tin Tee Pee Campground, McCluskey’s hardware and all the volunteers who helped make this event a success. Next ride is scheduled for September 20^th with proceeds going to Toys for Tots.
• Rum Runner’s Weekend committee is meeting again Wednesday, August 13^th, 5PM at the Panther Mt. Pub and anyone interested in helping organize the event is welcome to attend. Great sales on the internet for 1920’s costumes! We again are going to ask all businesses to dress for the era so when people come to town they drop back into the 1920’s.
• ADIRONDACK SHIN-DIG being held on Saturday, August 9^th, to correspond with the 15^th annual Adirondack Yard Sale. Shin-Dig starts at 5 PM where they will be closing off Church Street and “dancing the night away”!!!!
• THE ART in Chestertown is beginning its Harvest Spirit show on Friday August 8^th and is running through Saturday Sept. 20^th. If you’ve never stopped by this Gallery of Inspiring Work by regional artists (located on Main Street in Chestertown), you’re missing out on drawings, sculptures, oil paintings, photographs, watercolors, woodworking, jewelry, books and much more! Gallery is open Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM.

General Board Meeting Minutes: July 11, 2014

• TLBA Benefit Golf Tournament will be held Friday, July 18^th at Green Mansions Golf Course AND WE STILL NEED TEAMS! Loon Lake Association has entered a team and it would be fun to have all the lake associations compete (ESSLA? Brant Lake? Friends Lake?), as well as local businesses or individuals as we appreciate the support in one of the few fundraisers the TLBA has each year. Cost is $60 per person and includes cart and barbeque. Shot Gun start at 1:30 with barbeque following. We also need raffle items and someone to help organize this so contact Doug O’Brien at [email protected] to volunteer or register your team. Team monies can be sent to Doug O’Brien – PO Box 720 – Chestertown, NY 12817.
• APAC: GEORGIE WONDERS ORCHESTRA is coming to the Carol Theatre on Saturday, July 19^th, 7 PM. From Sinatra to Santana – Big Band Sounds from the 30’s & 40’s , plus music from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and more! $15 Admission – Info at #518-494-4495 or www.adkpac.org .Tickets can be purchased in advance at The Bull House, Main Street ICP, The Panther Mt. Pub or at the door the night of the performance.THE BEATLES concert was a huge success with 192 people in attendance and (2) tickets to the James Taylor concert at SPAC were raffled off netting APAC $211. Proceeds from ticket sales are split 50% to the performers, 30% to building owner for rent, electric, etc. and 20% to APAC for future promotions so attendance at these events is appreciated and its great live entertainment in our own backyard! LAURA ROTH, a World-Class Entertainer, Full-Time Professional Singer, Actress and Comedienne, is coming on August 2^nd, so mark your calendars. SHAKESPEARE IN THE RAW performances are also scheduled for August, and Steve Smith is organizing a School of Rock for serious music students over the summer with a performance scheduled for August 27^th at the theatre (call Steve at #796-3388 to register). A huge Thanks to Linda Muench and JoAnne Nick for organizing and installing the new covers for the theatre seats – a great improvement! And Thanks to building owner Bob Swan for picking up the purchase cost!
• Music on Main Street: Turn out for the Celtic Band was less than hoped for so try to attend these free events as continuation will depend on attendance. Next performance is the Stony Creek Band, August 7: S.L. Smith Band, August 21: Master Cylinders. All concerts are free to the public and will be held on the front lawn of the Chester Town Hall from 6:00 to 8:30 PM.

General Board Meeting Minutes: June 13, 2014

• Car Hop: Next one is June 20^th @ 5 PM at the Panther Mt. Inn. This was moved up a week because of rain on the scheduled date.
• Craft Brew Fest: $2,755 was taken in at the very successful Brew Fest on May 31^st, with around $2,000 netted to benefit the TLBA and the scholarship to be given to a graduating North Warren senior. A huge “Thank You” to Jacob & Tony’s and the Panther Mt. Pub for their generous donation of foods! Also thanks to the Becklers for their donation of wrist bands that helped make the event a success!
• Chestertown Farmer’s Market is ready for Opening Day on Wednesday June 18^th, from 10 AM to 2 PM. They have a full house this year…. only a few more vendor spots available!!!!! All our old friends (great veggies, baked goods, crepes, fish, wines, meats and cheese) plus a new coffee/tea vendor, a blacksmith, a silver jewelry maker, a Taco tent and more!!!! Great music line up too!!!!!!
