“To improve the quality of life and promote economic prosperity in Northern Warren County through enhanced infrastructure, expanded tourism, and beautification of our economic centers.”
A discussion was held on the future of the TLBA, and we feel haven’t gotten a lot of support for our events from local businesses and community members. Please see our Mission Statement above. Our goal is to improve our communities & bring people into the area, and this is a very easy (and fun) way to ‘give back’ to the towns we live in. One example is the theatre – there have been many awesome performances this year and we could really use more support in promoting these events. Some of these acts have traveled the country, and as we pay them 50% of the take from the door, many of these fantastic shows do not want to come back next year unless we can guarantee a larger attendance. We had 12 attendees at this past bi-monthly meeting and only 2 were business owners, the rest were volunteers (who make no money for their time, just personal satisfaction) & we always need more people to get involved, both volunteers AND businesses, by helping us get the word out (post on your Face Book page, put up a flyer, talk it up to your clientele), possibly helping out with one event each year and generally getting a little more involved in these TLBA events that DO bring business into town. Meetings last only one hour, they’re very informal and there is free coffee and donuts (!!!) so please join us if you can!
