Golf Outing: 59 golfers registered and a great fund raiser for the Alliance… Thank you to all who participated donated and helped organize the event and a big thanks to Doug O’Brien for chairing this committee and Cronin’s for a wonderful day!! Plans are to have the tourney earlier next year and John MacMillan has volunteered to chair!
Town Workers: Arrangements have been made to thank the Town workers for all their help during the year, with the TLBA treating them to lunch with Horicon employees going to the Lazy Moose and Chestertown employees going to Main St. Ice Cream Parlor on an upcoming Friday in appreciation of the work they do for our communities and for the TLBA.
Taste of the Tri-Lakes: Scheduled for the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving (December 1st) to coincide with the Rotary Memory Tree Lighting in the center of town. Forms and flyers will be going out to the restaurants this week and any business interested in participating please let us know asap (just reply to this email).
Town of Chester update: Mary Jane Dower reported that the town is still intending to install the new street lights that were purchased in the past and will hopefully be up by this spring. Monies have been put into Dynamite Hill to run the ski-tow by wired electric instead of generators. The Chestertown Rotary and John Nick have been influential in this improvement with wiring and upgraded electric systems.
Retirement Party for Fred Monroe: The Chester Town Board, NW Chamber of Commerce & the TLBA will be organizing a retirement party for Fred Monroe on January 29th at Jimbos. Mark your calendars to attend and recognize all the work Fred has done for our community over the many years he has been in office!
Theatre Sponsors: Unsolicited donations have been received from numerous community members and their support is greatly appreciated! Thank you to Silver Donors – Penny Redmond, John Behan, Fred Holman and Randy & Patty Berg, in memory of their son Davin and Gold Donors – Douglas & Allyson Schultz! Anyone interested in donating to the theatre productions the TLBA organizes each year can be mailed directly to the TLBA at PO Box 56 – Chestertown, NY 12817. A 2016 season’s pass to all events has been sent to all donors with many thanks to all!
Downhill Derby: February 13th
Brant Lake Winter Carnival: February 20th at Jimbo’s on the Point – Brandon Himoff will chair the committee and meetings will start soon.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Scheduled for March 12th. Someone to Chair this committee is needed – Don Butler will co-chair but a volunteer is needed to help organize this event. There is a great committee in place but someone is needed to step up to the plate and oversee the event…PLEASE let us know if you’re willing to help!
New Business Invitations: Invitations to new businesses in town will be sent out inviting them to join the TLBA and letting them know what we’re all about. Linda Muench will get addresses and Cindy will send letters out.
Beautification Committee: will be meeting soon. Anyone interested in helping with this just let us know! Many hands make light work!
Bike Ride: May 20th – Again, volunteers are needed to help plan this event which will be a joint NW Chamber of Commerce and TLBA venture.
