Taste of the Tri-Lakes is November 27. We will get a meeting together soon.
Bed Tax / Occupancy Tax monies. The chairs of the various committees will meet and discuss needs to prepare submission to Town. The Town of Horicon budget workshop is Tuesday, October 9 at 2pm.
Rum Runner weekend was a moderate success. Decision to not hold the event next year. Perhaps look at doing a 50’s/60’s event or Oktoberfest.
Is there an opportunity to have a bigger car show up here? Talk to groups in Glens Falls. How can we connect with more car groups / clubs. Look at the car show list for the area – the last one is October 20-21 at Lebanon Valley. Look at possibly doing a foliage tour/ride. We will continue to try and bookend the summer with events.
News from North Creek: Gore Mountain Harvest Fest is this weekend. barVino celebrates its 10 year anniversary.
Chamber update: Great Brant Lake Duck Race is tomorrow. Pancake breakfast at the Horicon firehouse 9am, games, pumpkin painting, ducks are released at noon. Tickets are still available. Tax seminar on October went very well. 12 attendees at the chamber and up to seven (7) online via Facebook live broadcast. October 10 is Health Insurance Open House 11am-6pm.
FYI – Barton Mines has five (5) full time positions they are looking to fill. Great opportunity for young people to work here and live here.
Economic Development Update: Job fairs are being planned at NWCS and will include resume writing clinic and mock interview practice.
